🧠 James Christy: I Think Not
Award-winning playwright, filmmaker, and former actor James Christy has a lot on his mind—and for one night only, he's letting his opinionated, judgmental, and questionably helpful inner monologue take the mic.
From '80s teen sex comedies to suburban lawn sign wars—and yes, even a dramatic reading from Leviticus—this sharp, hilarious one-hour monologue is raw, reflective, and totally unpredictable.

🎸 Tom Devaney: Glazed and Confused
Kicking off the night at 6:40 PM, Tom Devaney delivers a gritty post-punk set full of brooding riffs and razor-edged commentary. One mic. No apologies.

🎶 Peter Frank Live – One Night Only!
Closing out the night in smooth, sultry style, Peter Frank takes the stage at 8:45 PM with his signature soulful sound and unexpected twists. First date? Flying solo? Just need a vibe? He’s got you.

I Think Not – May 1st

An evening with my inner monologue. Thursday, May 1st, 7pm222 Speakeasy, 222 W 79th St. Award-winning playwright, filmmaker and former actor James Christy has a lot on his mind. To the outside world, he’s able to pass as a reasonably decent person. But he’s able to manage this only with vigilant oversight of his opinionated, judgmental and sometimes toxic inner monologue. With I Think Not, he’s made the possibly reckless decision to hand his inner monologue a microphone and give him center stage. Although, as usual in this relationship, he is subject to some judicious editing. This one-hour evening of comedy takes the audience headlong from topics as disparate as teen sex movies from the 80s, suburban lawn sign wars, and, maybe most risque of all, a reading from Leviticus.     Remember Your ticket includes a reserved table and an exclusive pre-show Thai dinner starting at 6 PM! Arrive early to savor delicious flavors and grab the best seats—first come, first served!
